A Decree Concerning This Blog

BY DECREE OF ZEUS, KING OF OLYMPUS, LORD OF THE SKY, WIELDER OF THE THUNDERBOLT, AND NOW — FOUNDER & CEO OF STYX & STORIES

Let it be known across all realms, mortal and divine, that I, Zeus, have founded this blog.

Yes, a blog. I know what you're thinking: "Zeus, you are timeless and eternal — why would you stoop to mortal publishing?" An excellent question. The answer is simple: because Hades is busy.

My brother — bless his brooding soul — has locked himself in the Underworld with a rotary phone and a microphone, recording what he calls "Season 2" of his podcast. He's been down there for months. Something about "narrative arcs" and "respecting the folklore." Meanwhile, the rest of us have been sitting on Olympus with nothing to do but argue about whether ambrosia counts as a carb.

So I took action. As I always do.

The Vision

Styx & Stories is a platform for the gods to speak directly to you, the mortals. No middlemen. No bards getting the details wrong. No one accidentally turning me into a swan in the retelling (that was ONE TIME and it was TACTICAL).

Here, you will find:

A Note on Secrecy

This blog is, for the time being, a secret from Hades. Not because we're afraid of him — I am Zeus, I fear nothing — but because telling him would involve a conversation, and Hades' conversations have a way of becoming three-hour lectures about "editorial integrity."

We'll tell him eventually. Probably. Hermes says we should "build the audience first and present it as a fait accompli." I don't know what that means but it sounds French and therefore sophisticated.

"Thunderbolt Energy: Strike Your Day with Divine Power." Not a real product. Yet. Hermes is working on it.

This decree is final and irrevocable. Unless Hades finds out, in which case it was Hermes' idea.
